Such an interesting experience for me! Marco Lippolis, Trieste, Italy. What I loved most about his Card College Books was the fact that every taught sleight or method was rewarded by a routine. So as a student of Magic I really liked the way to be taken by my hand and guided along the garden path. I was lucky enough to have the big ones with Spiral binding that I really prefer, but he also published them electronically for a while.
Not sure if they are still around. Back then before the Iphone and other Smartphones I had all his works on my Palm Pilot and every free minute even in the small room where you only go alone I was always able to pull up a chapter, and practice with a deck of card in hand. Thanks Roberto! Jonathan Molo www.
I just started on vol 1 and it's already helping me with techniques I thought I had down. I never bought it in the past because ad copy listing what the first vol teaches made me think I already knew that information. There is much more in the book than usually listed I have found out. So glad I finally got it and looking forward to future volumes.
Only a few, I thought. Perhaps I'm missing something, but is it Monsieur le Torrent? When were the other volumes on sale as e-books? Only the volumes 1 and 2 were published electronically. What is nice that there are video handlings embedded for an easy reference.
It was a ton of work for Roberto and he figured out that it would not be efficient to do the same for the volumes 3 and 4. The first 2 are already a gem and even if you own the real books, the electronic versions are awesome at least back then when I learned and watched on an old Palm Pilot maybe 8 years ago. Or do you need both? Pm'd you Ihop Card-Shark, thanks for the info on the E-book version. If this is just about Giobbi, how come Royal Road is mentioned?

Do you want to respond to this review? I give this 4 stars because sometimes things can be over explained to the point of boredom. While Giobbi offers exhaustive explanations of what he has perfumed, he tends to go too far and segues too often for my taste.
Just when you think he is getting to the point, he jumps to another thought. I often has to fast forward things that were beginning to bore me. Great theory, yes but much could be referred to in books. Also, I hate when a magician shows 4 effects and then explains them later.
I already forgot the original trick and have to rewind to see it again. A lengthy and good lecture, but way too "comprehensive". I almost wanted to say "get to the point already". The best lecture I watched a bunch when it aired but had to break up the rest. I really want to give this 4 stars, but can't, I was bummed out a few things were not touched on things from Roberto's past.
So my expectations may have been a little higher than they should have been. With that said: This a fantastic lecture which got me to think about a ton of things. If you are a card magician, you should probably pick this up. Here's the reason why I cannot give less than 5 stars Roberto comes out and did a FULL routine, showing you transitions, construction and more importantly entertaining!!!
Do it before you do anything else.. To future magicians giving a Live Lecture I wish every single lecture did this Playing card mastery! Roberto is a pasteboard master and backups that up with 1st rate routining.
